If you are looking for a quality digital SLR such as the Pentax K5, then be prepared for information overload. The same set of functions and capabilities do seem to be offered by most cameras. Obviously you can have excellent quality photos and more reliable cameras, etc, and that is the difference. So it is who can do the most, and do it better, with the same set of resources.

So the camera you shop for just needs to take care of your needs for it and do it as well as you want it to be. Regardless of why you want a digital camera, just avoid breaking your bank and get something you will enjoy using.

There is never any let-up with design and engineering improvements, and that is what people expect to see every year. Rising to the challenge and meeting it is evident in the K5, most assuredly. If you like choices and options when you are shooting, then we believe that is possible to have in this camera. The ability to quickly seize an emerging photo opportunity can be better assured with the faster auto-focus. We all have occasion to shoot in dimmer lighting situations, and that has been addressed as well in the K5. There are encouraging results and reports by K5 users about these improvements for low light conditions.

We have all seen certain shots where it looks like the camera was asked to do something that it really was not designed to do. However, Live View was added to this model as a direct result of CMOS and other hardware changes. An entirely new image sensor was added to the K5 along with upgraded software for more precise processing and speed. Some of the results have to do with improved ability to focus and much better auto-focus. Consumers merely have the desire to have fun while making excellent photos. You can use the continuous shoot function with auto-focus and produce high quality, high resolution images.

Additional improvements in the Pentax K5 include a proprietary design for reducing noise due to unsteady hands. What you will find in the K5 is termed, Shake Reduction, and has proven to be highly effective. This will help reduce unnecessary blur due to camera shake and naturally allow for sharper pictures. One thing that has been eliminated in the K5 is the push button for multiple exposures. However, that can still be achieved through use of custom programming which is not difficult to implement.

You will find solid advances in technology and use of software programming with the Pentax K5. You will find that setting up any custom programming is fast and easy to do. If you are looking for your first digital SLR, then do not feel intimidated by all the K5 can do. The K5 is complex but easy to use, and that is really the best part about it. It would be a shame to have a camera like this and not use all the features and functions available.
